28 Weeks Check Up

I had my 28 week check up today. I can't believe I am starting my third trimester. Time is really flying by. Things are so busy at school, shopping for Christmas, and doing other things to prepare for Alexis's arrival, that the weeks are just flying by.  Week 25 and week 26 brought some new changes for me or should I say pain. I went to the doctor at week 26 to get things checked out just to make everything was ok. My doctor said that she was sitting on my tailbone and which was causing a lot of pressure. It felt like I had been riding a horse for days. I had not experienced that kind of pressure before so I wanted to make everything was ok. I was good when I was sitting down but the longer I stood up or longer/more I walked, it hurt so bad. Thankfully, this baby girl has moved to a new position and I have been feeling much better the past 2 weeks.  With all that is going on I am trying to put my feet up as much as I can. If I don't, my feet and ankles start to get tight on me and swell.  Food cravings: nothing really.  I preregistered at the hospital this afternoon and they have set my C-section date for January 6th (which will be 39 weeks). So, in 11 weeks she will be here, if not before then. I really hope she waits and doesn't come early like Madalyn did. With Christmas and everything that goes on at that time, I know I will be in the hospital for 4 days and I really don't want to mess up Madalyn's Christmas. So fingers crossed and legs crossed :0) Ha Ha! that she decides to stay in until January 6th or at least until January.  I go back in 3 weeks for my next check up. :0)

Pumpkins

We were unable to make it to an actual pumpkin patch this year. But yesterday when Madalyn and I were out shoppin,g we ran across a place selling pumpkins, so we stopped and picked out a big one for carving and a small one for Madalyn to paint. And we got a coupon for five dollars off a Christmas tree if we go back to the same place.

And of course, she chose to paint her pumpkin PINK.

Madalyn wanted to paint "smiley faces" on her pumpkin.

Next, it was time to carve the big pumpkin.

I showed Madalyn how to scoop the seeds and pulp out with a spoon.

Bella had to come check out what  we were doing.

Then I showed Madalyn how to reach in and grab the seeds and pulp with your hands.

She wasn't too sure about this at first.

There were a lot of seeds in this pumpkin and not a lot of pulp. Which made it for an easier clean out.

Madalyn wanted her big pumpkin to smile too.

The end result....two smiley pumpkins = one happy girl

Our Gold Medalist

Last week at preschool they learned about the letter "O" and they had "Olympic Day".  They had some races on the playground and Madalyn won a gold medal for being the fastest girl in her class.  Which honestly came as no surprise to us. Ever since Madalyn could walk...she ran, and is like lightning.  When she takes the notion to jet off, you have to run to catch her.  It can have it's down side because she can get away from you in a heart beat. Anytime we are in the parking lot, at church, or at a store, etc. I have to hold onto her tightly or she will take off running.  She likes to have races by herself at home in the yard.  However, it could be that we have the start of an athlete in the family.  She was very proud of her gold medal and so were we.  However, Kevin, wanted her to get a chance to race the boys, because he was betting that she could out run them and she probably could. Not that I'm basis or anything. :0)

Our Gold Medalist

Her name was even in her class newsletter.

Madalyn Up Date

Madalyn had her urine checked again on Thursday and got a good result so they are going to stop testing her now.  All of her "spots" have gone away, so unless they return between now and March; she's well as far as we know.  We appreciate all the prayers and are so thankful for her sake it wasn't any more than it was. This could have been a really serious sickness, but thank God, it didn't turn into one.

Madalyn 3 1/2 Pictures

I have been waiting to take pictures of Madalyn at 3 1/2 years, but with the weather here lately it has rained every weekend and Madalyn has been sick. So yesterday we finally had a pretty Saturday even though it was a little cool to get some pictures made.

Love her personality

Disney Jr. Live

Two weeks ago Kevin was watching the morning news like he always does and they mentioned that the Disney Jr. Live Tour was going to be in Augusta on Friday, October 3rd. So I got online and they still had some tickets left.  The three of us went last night and really enjoyed it.  Madalyn loves to watch the Disney Jr. channel on TV and the show had all her favorite characters: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and Jack and the Neverland Pirates.  The tickets were reasonable priced and it was worth every penny to see Madalyn enjoying the show so much.  The characters all sang their most popular songs and during each performance they gave the children in the audience a chance to get up and dance along.

We were getting ready to walk across the street to the Bell Auditorium for the show.

Madalyn asked me if she could make a silly face.

For getting tickets two weeks before the show, we couldn't complain about our seats. They were pretty good.

The PreShow was Doc McStuffins

Madalyn was glued to the show....watching Doc

Doc had to help this race car feel better. And of course she sang her two most popular songs "Time for Your Check-Up" and "I Feel Better"

Waving "good-bye" to Doc

Mickey and Minnie Mouse were out next. They were the MC for the night.

Minnie was saying that Princesses were better and Mickey was saying that Pirates were better.

Sofia the First was the first act.
Her story was that she was looking for the perfect gift of kindness to give to people at the kingdom kindness day parade.

The three fairies

Sofia at school.

Sofia made cupcakes for her gift of kindness. Her sister Amber told her they weren't big enough, so Sofia used magic to make them bigger and that created a BIG problem.

Cinderella came to help Sofia with her problem.

Cinderella is Madalyn's favorite Disney princess so she was in awe when Cinderella appeared.

Sofia realized the best gift she could give was the gift of friendship and love.

Sofia grew taller and bubbles came out at the end of the show.

Madalyn sat like this through the whole performance.

After an intermission it was time for Jack and the Neverland Pirates.
Their story was that they had a map to get to Volcano island. The volcano would erupt treasure.

Captain Hook of course wanted that map and ended up stealing it. Madalyn didn't like that at all. She wanted to help get back Jack's map.

Captain Hook trapped Jack in the crow's nest, so Peter Pan came to help.

The Tic-Toc Croc came after Captain Hook

Jack and his friends came to save Captain Hook from the Croc.

The volcano erupted "treasure" at the end of the show.

Once again, Madalyn sat like this through the whole performance.

It was a wonderful show.  We all enjoyed it.

On our way home with Sofia.

Madalyn asked me this morning if we could go back and see everyone again.  I told her maybe sometime we can.  She really enjoyed it.
