Today, the sun has come out and it has been a wonderful, pleasant day. In fact, Madalyn was ready to begin her day at 3:00 am this morning and didn't even close her eyes until 10:30 am, she went down for an hour nap. Then woke back up, then went back down for another hour nap. (And yes her mom went down for about a 4 hour nap, due to having only 3 hours of sleep. So at 6:30 this morning I decided to go to the beach and watch the sunrise. This evening we went to the Salty Dog and got an ice cream and got to see JAKE the Salty Dog. I got a Salty Dog T-shirt and so did Madalyn. She also got a JAKE Salty Dog stuffed animal.
I think Madalyn would have been more impressed if JAKE would have of been an actual dog.
Can you tell Madalyn enjoyed my chocolate ice cream? She was smacking her lips.
Madalyn loves to play with a water bottle and squeeze it to make noise. She is sitting in a sand bucket that her MeMe had let her use for the beach. And no, we didn't put her in there, she got in herself.

Thursday, Day 2 Continued...
Of course we had to get a beach photo shoot in, so this evening...thanks to my mom taking the pictures and me jumping around like crazy, we were able to get some wonderful pictures of Madalyn.
Thursday, Hilton Head Day 2
Today it was cloudy, very windy, and rainy for the morning. It cleared off by lunch time and we were able to go on the beach for a little bit. And who should we run into to...but Heather (my sister-in-law), Michael, Kayla, and Geoffery who are staying at a near by hotel. The cousins had fun playing together and Madalyn LOVES the ocean.

Wednesday, Hilton Head Day 1
Madalyn saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time last night. What did she do you ask?....Made a beeline for the water. I think she would just keep on going, if we didn't catch her. She loves the ocean and sand. She liked to pick up the sea reeds and suck the salt water out. She had a great time running and playing last night.
I love this picture of Madalyn and her Daddy!

My Little Helper
Madalyn just amazes me at what she picks up on and what she can do at her age. I have had a mountain of laundry to do. Some how, during the last few weeks of school, I guess I didn't do any laundry. I think with my next load I'll be able to see the bottom of my laundry basket. And I can now see the floor again. Ha ha! :0) I couldn't have gotten it all done without my little helper. Whenever I go to open the dryer, Madalyn pulls out the lint trap and will clean it off and put it back in. I never showed her how to do this, she just watched me do it and now, she does it every time. Which I appreciate all the help I can get, no matter how small.
Pool Time
Saturday, Madalyn had some "pool" time in our backyard. She had the best time getting in and out of her pool, even though I don't have a picture of her smiling. Since we were just in our backyard, I just put a t-shirt and swim diaper on Madalyn instead of a bathing suit. At her age, it doesn't matter much. :0)

Last Day of School
Today was the last day of school for me. Wednesday of this week was the last day for students and today was the last day for teachers. I'm ready to be able to enjoy my family again without the stress of school. At the same time, it's very strange not to have school work to do. During this school year, I came to realize why back in the 1800's and possibly the early 1900's most teachers were not married and didn't have children of their own. Being a teacher you have to devote so much time to your job and not just time, but it drains you mentally and emotionally, which to me mean is harder on your body than a physically demanding job. It was difficult enough being single, then when I got married it was more so, but then this year having my own child at home, it was very hard. Once I got home, I of course, didn't want to have to do school work and devote my time to her. However, sometimes I did have to school work, and I didn't have the energy to do either one. Kevin can come in from working on the farm all day in the heat, etc. and still have plenty of energy. Where as when I would come home from school, I would be completely drained. Being a wife and mom is a full time job inside the home, then add another job that's like having another "family" on top of it, it's difficult. So, I know that Kevin is looking forward to having me cook dinner again, and keep up with the household chores. And I know that Madalyn is looking forward to having her mom home without saying, "I can't play, I have grade papers, or do other school work". I know this summer will go by very fast, the school year sure did, so I'm going to do my best to make the most of each day that I get to spend with my baby girl and Kevin. Thank you to all of you who prayed for me during the school year and especially these last few weeks, they were very stressful. I couldn't have had a successful school year without your prayers and without God helping me through each day. "What time is it?....It's summer time!" :0)
