Madalyn had her one year check up last week. Everything looks good, she's growing up fast.

Madalyn's 1st Birthday Party #2

Last weekend, Sunday, March 25th, Madalyn had her second 1st birthday party in Barnwell. We had Kevin's side of the family over at Grandma Kitty's cookhouse for her birthday. It had started to rain that morning, but thankfully the sun ended up coming out and it was a nice day. We had a great turn out with family and lots of fun. Madalyn knew what to do with her cake by this time. Thank you to all that came to her party and gave her a gift. Happy 1st Birthday, Madalyn! We love you! (Thank you Aunt Tori for taking pictures!) I was so busy with her party that I forgot to get a picture of her cake before she ate it. But it was hot pink and purple with butterflies.

Madalyn's 1st Birthday Party #1

Saturday, March 17th, Madalyn celebrated her first birthday at her Nana and Grand Dad's house in Greer. We had invited family and friends to join in on the celebration. It turned out to be a very nice day and we had a good turn out. Madalyn was sleepy and wasn't in the best mood until it came time for presents. She had a nap earlier but was ready for another one as soon as it was time for her party. After everyone left, she did go down for a 2 hour nap...she was worn out from all the excitement. She had a great first birthday and we are so thankful for everyone who came and gave her a gift. Happy 1st Birthday, Madalyn! (Thank you Grand Dad and Amanda for taking pictures!)

Madalyn gets to celebrate her 1st birthday in my high chair, where I celebrated my 1st birthday 30 years ago.

Madalyn's cakes were created by Tasteful Elegance, which is the same lady that did our wedding cake. White chocolate cake with strawberry cream filling...one word... Out of this world delicious! Oh, yummy cake!

Celebrate the Day!

Kevin had started building a stand I guess you could say for Madalyn's swing yesterday. He finished it today. So we went outside for Madalyn to enjoy her birthday present when I got home from school. The swing was from her Meme and Pop. I think she enjoyed swinging.

I stopped by the store on my way home and picked up a small cake. As you can see, Madalyn really enjoyed it and made a big mess. But hey, how many times are you allowed to make a mess and get away with it? Only on your birthday! :0)

Oh, my goodness...my baby is one!!! Can this really be?! It has been a year of blessings and joy beyond what I know I or Kevin had ever begun to imagine. We love our baby girl so much that our hearts could burst. Each day we love her a little more than the day before, if that is at all possible. A year ago today, I woke up not feeling well. I had a bad night and had many sharp pains during the night and really didn't want to go to school, but went anyway. Little did I know what all was about to unfold that day. You can reread Madalyn's birth story and relive the whirlwind of a day it was. But through it all, God was completely in control. And at the end of that crazy day, we had a precious, beyond words, baby girl. (Even though I was in a lot of pain and kind of out of it. haha!) Unfortunately I don't get to stay at home with her today and celebrate all day long with her. But I will get home as fast as I can after school today and we will celebrate. However, her MeMe who was with us both during that whole day last year and was my lifesaver, gets to celebrate with her all day today. Which I do think she earned that right. ;0) Happy Birthday to my precious baby girl! We love you so much!

Flowers for Me?

My sweet husband gave me a rose bush today. The reason was because tomorrow, it will be one year that I gave birth to our precious baby girl. I thought that was very sweet and thoughtful of him. The rose bush is beautiful...I love the purple color!

Madalyn 12 Months Old

It's hard to believe that I'm posting this....my baby girls' 12 months pictures! This afternoon it was so pretty outside that I grabbed my camera and my helper (Mrs. Katie) and got some quick pictures of Madalyn. We will have professional pics made sometime soon and I have birthday pics coming soon also. We went to Greer this past weekend and Madalyn had her birthday party with my side of the family. This coming weekend she will have her birthday party with Kevin's side of the family. Lucky girl, she gets to celebrate all week long!
