18 Month Check Up

Madalyn went for her 18 month check up today.  Her doctor said she was doing well.  Except for the fact that she was broken out in hives! This is so frustrating! We don't know what triggers her reactions. When we picked her up from the church nursery on Sunday, she was broken out and still is.  She said that we could go to the allergist again, but she really didn't know what else he would do. However, they are not as bad as what they were this summer, so that's a plus.  She did give me a prescription for something different from benadryl to try, so hopefully this will work better.  Poor Mad got 3 shots today, but no more shots until she's 4 years old! After the first shot she started screaming and then continued until we got to the check out counter. The nurse that gave her the shots said "boy, she's got an ear- piercing scream" to which I thought to myself, yes she does and she can even go a few more octaves higher.

18 Month Stats:
weight: 26.2 lbs. in the 75%
height: 34 1/2 in. her doctor said she was off the charts with her height

She has started talking a little bit more.  Being in preschool has helped with that.  She is a climber for sure and there's something new every day with her. It's amazing at times, at how "grown-up" she is becoming but then at other times, she reminds me that she is just 18 months old. She is always on the move so the times right before bed when she is slowing down and just sitting in your lap or beside you on the couch or in a chair, Kevin and I both treasure those times.  Her hugs and kisses can brighten any day.
