I'm So Sleepy
I had to run to Wal-Mart yesterday and on the way there I noticed Madalyn dozing off and I tried to wake up her. She woke up some, but when I put her in the buggy she went back to sleep. Which Madalyn never goes to sleep in places like this, maybe one other time she has; not even when she was a baby. It was so funny watching her, I had to take a picture. She must not have had a nap yesterday or if she did, it wasn't a long nap. Poor baby! ;0)
Making a Gingerbread House
After Madalyn's Christmas program, it started raining and continued the rest of the day. So Nana had brought a gingerbread house for Madalyn to make. She had fun decorating it and more fun eating the candy. :0)

It's too temping not to eat it.
In the words of Madalyn "it's goody!" :0)
Madalyn's Christmas Program
Saturday, Madalyn's preschool had their Christmas program. I was worried that she wouldn't get on stage and would cry, but she didn't. She didn't stand still.....however, that's nothing new :0) and by that I mean, she climbed the bleachers during the song. So she provided some entertainment for the audience.
Madalyn is ready to go to her program.
She slept in sponge rollers to get her hair curly. It looked so cute!
The girls were snowflakes, the boys were snowmen.

Party Time
This afternoon, Madalyn went to her first "non" family birthday party. The party was for a little girl who is in her preschool class. Madalyn was so excited to go and pick out her present last night and so excited about the party today. Since it rained most of the day, it was a nice break for her. She had a blast at the party. They had balloons to play with, a coloring station, a castle decorating station (which was an ice cream cone turned upside down, and they covered it with frosting and sprinkles, cake and ice cream. It was a princess party so there were lip gloss rings, bubbles, and tiaras.
We are getting ready to leave for the party!

Christmas Craft
The weekend before Thanksgiving, Madalyn and I got crafty. Madalyn made a special gift for each of her grandmas and one for me. I know I'm late posting this, but here's what she made.
To make this decorative kitchen towel we used: white flour sacks, regular acrylic paint, craft glue for the wiggle eyes, ribbon-which I sewed the bow on, red puffy paint. Madalyn used her foot and hands to make the reindeer and her thumb print for the nose and lights. I thought our little project turned out cute.

Thanksgiving Recap
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I hope you and your family did as well. However Tuesday started with Madalyn having a stomach virus. We spent lots of time with family, and I got my Christmas shopping done. Madalyn and I left for Greer last Wednesday morning in hopes of seeing snow...because it was snowing at my parent's house. Unfortunately, when we got to Greer, the sun was out and no snow anywhere :0(. Kevin came up later Wednesday afternoon after work. Then Thursday we had lunch at my great uncle's house and that night we had dinner in Anderson, at my aunt's house. Friday, Santa came to my parents' house to see Madalyn, but she wasn't too excited to see him. We all road to the mountains and ate lunch. Did some more shopping Friday and Saturday. Then we spent some time at my Papa's house and put a Christmas tree for him. He hasn't had one in 8 years, since my grandmother died. We thought it would bring him some cheer. Madalyn and I headed home Sunday morning. Kevin had gone home Friday afternoon because he had to work Saturday.

Let's decorate a tree for Papa

I know the picture is blurry, but you can see her little mischievous grin.
When we got home Sunday, Kevin, Madalyn, and I went to pick out our Christmas tree.
This one!
Let's take our tree and go home to decorate it.
But first, we have to stop and feed the sheep. When we drove up to feed the sheep we found a little surprise. Our first of several little lambs to be born. This one is a little boy.

Counting My Blessings
There's a Johnny Cash song called the "Thanksgiving Prayer". Here's the chorus and the beginning part to the song.
We've come to the time in the season
When family and friends gather near
To offer a prayer of Thanksgiving
For blessings we've known through the year
To join hands and thank the Creator
And now when Thanksgiving is due
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
When family and friends gather near
To offer a prayer of Thanksgiving
For blessings we've known through the year
To join hands and thank the Creator
And now when Thanksgiving is due
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
This year when I count my blessings
I'm thanking the Lord He made you
I have so many things to be thankful for everyday. It's been a difficult passed 5 months for us. At the top of my list this year is that my husband is still with me and he's healthy. If you have ever experienced a time when you realize that you almost lost your spouse, you wake up and realize more and more that life is short, it's unexpected, and a normal day can turn into your worst nightmare in the blink of an eye. Thanks be to God only for healing Kevin and thanks to God for His continued healing and blessings on our family.
This was the verse that spoke to me our first hospital trip: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." -Isaiah 41:10
This was the verse that spoke to me our second hospital trip: "I life up my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." -Psalm 121:1-2
