Pretty in Pink and An Organized Room

I took some pictures of Madalyn this morning.  She loves the color pink and anytime we go shopping she picks out whatever she likes in of course PINK!

Madalyn and Bella

She loves her kitty!

This week my mom has been down and we have been cleaning out Madalyn's room and her closet to get ready for the new addition coming. I wanted to see what baby stuff I did have and make a list of what I will need for the new baby regardless if it's a girl or boy.  Also, I just needed to get Madalyn's room more organized. I would show you the "before" pictures, but I'm so embarrassed for how her room and her closet looked. Oh my goodness! We couldn't see Madalyn's floor, or anything else in her room, or my den or kitchen. For one child, she had so much stuff, and it was mainly clothes.  I have been so pleased with the end result. Her closet has never been this organized or clean.  I mean for years I haven't been able to even shut the door.

However, if this baby is a girl, many of the clothes won't be able to be used because they will be different sizes at different times. For example, most of Madalyn's summer stuff is 3 months old, and this baby will be 3 months in April. Also, Madalyn was 6-9 months in the fall and this baby will be 9-12, so I can use some stuff. Also, this baby could be bigger than Madalyn and be in bigger sizes sooner.  I had the comment made if its a girl, then you won't need anything, but that's not true. I will need some things, and if it's a boy, I will for sure need things. However, when I picked out my bigger items for Madalyn, I made sure to do neutral colors so in case the second was a boy he wouldn't have to have a pink car seat. :0)

Madalyn's Room

Madalyn will move into the other bedroom and I will use the same crib and furiture for the new baby. I took down all her nursery bedding, etc.

The closet: I'm so proud! I keep walking in the closet and just looking at it. I tell you no lie when I say you couldn't close the door or find the floor.

This is Madalyn's side.

Happy Anniversary!

Today, is Kevin and my 6th wedding anniversary.  After being together for 10 years ( 4 years of dating and 6 years of marriage) we have experienced so many things together.  The years go by fast. This 6th year did have some health challenges in many ways and not just with in our little family. But God has blessed us with healing us and we are so excited about what this next year will bring.  I couldn't imagine sharing this life's journey with anyone else but Kevin. He is a very hard worker and does his absolute best to provide for us. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to make sure Madalyn and I have what we need. He is a wonderful dad to Madalyn and a loving husband to me. After what we have been through this year, I feel our love for one another is stronger than it was and we also have realized how life can change quickly and to count the moments you have with one another and enjoy them to the fullest.  I am excited to continue on this journey I started 6 years ago with Kevin and to see what is to come. Happy Anniversary, Kevin! I love you!

Lake Weekend

Last week we left Thursday afternoon and we went to the lake for the weekend and made our announcement to my family and came home and made the announcement to Kevin's family.  I am a week late posting pictures, but here's some pictures of Madalyn having fun at the lake. She keeps asking to go back, which we will soon.

Playing in the sand; trying to build a sand castle.

Madalyn loves the water!

She also likes to ride in G-Dad's boat.

After a day on the lake, it's time to settle down and watch some TV before bed.

Madalyn's Big Announcement

This weekend Madalyn shared a big announcement with our family and friends.

Madalyn's going to be a Big Sister!

Baby #2 at 8 weeks

I will be 10 weeks on Tuesday. I am due January 13th, but a C-section will be done at 39 weeks unless like Madalyn this one comes early. My blood pressure doubled the day I went into labor with Madalyn so if that happens again, they might have to do a C-section earlier.  Madalyn and this baby will be a few months of being 4 years apart.

Baby #2 Journey: We had planned to get pregnant back in August or September. However, in July I saw a cardiologist for heart issues and was told by the doctor to wait. Then when I was cleared, the very next week Kevin was in the hospital with his heart problem and again in September. In October, I had an ovarian cyst to rupture. I had to wait for two month to see if the cyst was going dissolve on it's on or if I would need surgery. There's been other things that have gone on and we have done a lot of waiting. It has been very frustrating at times and there's been many tears.   I actually found out Mother's Day weekend that I was expecting again.  I took the test that Saturday; so it was an extra special Mother's Day for me. We are so excited to have been blessed after months of praying and waiting, and both of us being in physical pain. We both pray that I will have a healthy pregnancy and for a healthy baby no matter if it's pink or blue.  :0) My prediction: PINK!

Madalyn went with us to our appointment. We haven't said much to her about the baby because it's a long time yet and I know she wouldn't understand really. But when the lady was doing the sonoagram, Kevin told her to look and see what Mommy ate for lunch. Madalyn's answer "squash". I didn't but I guess it does kindof look like a squash. We ask bother if she wants a brother or sister. Most of the time she says sister but some times she says both.  So Madalyn's prediction: Yellow as in squash.

Kevin's prediction: he thinks I will be wrong this time but I knew all along that Madalyn would be a girl. So we will see, but I know that Madalyn's answer isn't correct. :0)

Madalyn 3 Years Old Pictures

Every year around Madalyn's birthday, the hay field in front of our house will be full of purple flowers. However, I guess due to the severe cold weather we had this year, the purple flowers never bloomed. So, I finally decided it was time to take her picture. Madalyn did pretty good, and it got hot quick Saturday morning, so we had to cut it short, but here's her pictures.

I would have posted this earlier, but Sunday evening, all three of us came down with a stomach virus. I got it first and a few hours after, me Madalyn started with it, and I was so sick, I couldn't help Kevin with her. He did a great job cleaning up her (which he had to do about 5 different times). He washed her bedding and clothes and stayed up with her most of the night. None of us sleep Sunday night. We are all finally feeling better. That's one thing that's no fun to share with one another. And I haven't been that sick in years. So thankful to be feeling better and hopefully we can now start to enjoy what's left of our week.

Madalyn's ER Trip on Tuesday

Tuesday afternoon, around 5:00pm, Madalyn and I were in the den. I got up to go to the bathroom. When I was in the bathroom I heard a thump and then Madalyn crying.  I knew by the sound of her crying that she was really hurt. She came around the corner bleeding from her forehead. When I cleaned the blood away I could see her skin had separated and she might need stitches. Madalyn was carrying a blanket and she tripped over the blanket and hit her head on the bottom corner of our dresser.  So I called Kevin and my mother-in-law to come give me their opinion. Kevin and I decided to take her to the ER to get her checked out.  Thankfully, they didn't have to do stitches, they were able to glue it back together, which was less traumatic for Madalyn and us. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor, he was great with Madalyn. In 25 minutes we were done and on our way to get a pink milkshake for Madalyn as a treat for being such a good and brave girl. The doctor did tell us to keep sunscreen on her face and keep the cut covered, to help prevent scaring for the summer. At least she has bangs and that can help protect it some.

I know the picture is blurry, but we were on the way to the ER.

The doctor let Madalyn be his little assistant. He put gloves on her and let her hold the glue.

It's all better now.

On the way home with her pink milkshake.

On a different note,  Madalyn is doing really well from getting tubes put in. Thursday was my last day at school. I'm glad to be out for awhile. I told Kevin that he began my school year in the Barnwell ER and Madalyn has ended my year there, so I pray our family is done with ER visits. I have to keep reminding Madalyn to go "slowly" and to watch where she is walking. I can't tell you how many times since Tuesday, she's almost hit her head again. Hopefully, we will have a safe summer.
