Madalyn 11 Months Old

I am posting Madalyn's 11 month pictures early this time. It's hard to believe that she will be 11 months old on Tuesday! I took her pictures today since it wasn't raining and it wasn't cold. I had help though. You can't see behind me, but Mrs. Katie is jumping up and down and doing all she can to get a smile out of this precious baby girl. Madalyn loves to be outside but she gets so involved with all that is going on that she just won't look at the camera and smile. She is walking really well now and into everything. She is still sleeping well at night and eating good. She is a happy, content baby just about all the time. She is giving and blowing kisses to you. Last week, Mrs. Katie said that Madalyn was standing at her front door and saw a red car go by and it of course didn't stop. Madalyn started crying because she thought it was me. I thought that was so sweet, but felt bad for her at the same time.

I can't believe she is almost a year old!

Valentine Surprise

Kevin had told me that my flowers this year would probably be some daffodils that he picks out of our yard due to the expense that flowers can be. (Which would have been fine, however with this cold weather we have had the past few days, they were all wilted over.) When I got home from picking Madalyn up today, I found my bouquet of a dozen, beautiful "daffodils" on the kitchen table. I have not seen this combination of red and pink roses before. I thought it was a very sweet surprise that my thoughtful husband did for me. I hope you all had a LOVE-ly Valentines' Day!

Happy Valentines' Day

Happy Valentines' Day! I hope you all have the chance to share how much someone means to you on this special day. I hope that all of you are told how much you mean to someone. I hope you get to enjoy the day or some of the day with the ones you love.

Yea! It's great to be outside!

"I love my teddy bear Meme got me today!"

Now she has lost interest in the camera and is paying attention to the leaves.

Winter Morning

Finally, a winter morning! I tell you, some of you might think I'm crazy, but I have missed winter this year! Our area has been unusually warm and it's always warmer down here than in Greer. I miss the cold weather! I like to wear my warm clothes and bundle up in the morning. However, we had our "March winds" yesterday and I can do without the wind. I have worn my short sleeve shirts just about all year long. I'm so bored and tired of them! However, I know this cold weather won't last but it would be nice for it to stay awhile. This 70 degree weather has me thinking that school is almost out....it also has my students thinking that too and acting that way as well.

The count down has started with school...I have 68 days left with students for this school year. We are just about in the middle of the third nine weeks. It's gone by so fast! I'm ready to be able to spend some time at home with my baby girl and not have to worry about school.

Also, in less than 6 weeks my baby girl will be 1 years old! Oh, my goodness! I can't even begin to realize that it has almost been a year since she was born. And yes, I have been in the planning stages for her birthday. I pretty much have everything together, just waiting on the day to send out the invitations and her party days to come. However, I want her to slow down growing so fast and changing so much. She's quickly becoming a toddler and not a baby. Oh me! I am trying to enjoy it and soak in these precious moments as much as I can excluding the pressures, stresses, and demands of my job, the home, etc. all that other stuff that can so easily take up our time.

I may be just a "little" bit basis, but what mother isn't...I think she's just so precious!

Getting Ready for Valentines' Day

Madalyn decided that it was time for her to start wearing her Valentine PJ's tonight. This baby girl has walked and walked and walked all weekend. She is walking all the time and everywhere now. I went to get her bath water ready and turned around and she had followed me into the bathroom. I go to the kitchen to do something, and she's following me in there. We have created a closed circle in our den floor to block her from getting out and to block her from getting to the fireplace, and TV. She knows how to turn the TV on and off now, and she can crawl up onto the fireplace ledge. When she is heading in a direction we don't want her to go in, we can show her the TV remote or our cell phone and most of the time she will come back. If she doesn't, then we have to get up and go after her because she gets faster and squeals with delight when she knows you are coming after her. She's keeping us on our toes!
