Walking in High Cotton

This spring was the first time Kevin had even planted cotton.  I would say that he was very blessed with his first attempt and there will be many more.  The week of October 20th, Kevin began to start harvesting his cotton.  He put in many long days that week, not getting home until well after dark, but it was finally finished on Saturday, Oct.25th.  Kevin had a total of 3 1/2 modules of cotton which equals about 48 bales of cotton. Here are some pictures of his first cotton crop.

Thursday, Oct. 24th, starting to harvest the cotton.

In between the chicken houses there was 8 acres of cotton.

Module Builder: this is used to pack the cotton into blocks of cotton.

Madalyn got to play in the cotton. (She has on her pj's because it was pajama day at school. After I got home from school that evening, we came to see her Daddy and the cotton.)

They had fun having a cotton "fight". If I wasn't pregnant I would have joined them but you have to crawl over the rail and jump into the cotton. Not the best idea for me right now. But maybe next year I can. :0)

Saturday, Oct.25th: the back field (19 acres)

Kevin's part for the harvest was to run the module builder.

The first completed module.

The second completed module.
